Safecrete Blocks:

{INSERT IMAGE}  SafeCrete block is an excellent building material for residential construction. The light weight and workability of SafeCrete enable quick and safe installation.  Excellent thermal properties benefit homeowners for the entire life of the home. 

SafeCrete block is available in a range of sizes.  Size should be selected based on design, thermal, and sound absorption requirements. Standard blocks conform to ASTM standards for AC-3 or AC-4 depending on manufacturing source. The lighter AC-2 blocks are suitable for most load-bearing structures up to 3 stories. AC-4 is preferable in areas with high wind loads or other special considerations. Please consult your engineer. 

Labor-saving specialty blocks are also available. Purchase cored block to reduce on-site drilling for vertical reinforcement. At minimum, vertical cores are required on each side of openings, and in corners. Additional reinforcement is required for exceptionally long or tall walls, or walls below grade. 

Select tongue-and-groove (T/G) or griphold (GH) blocks for ease of installation. Use u-block to construct a bond beam at each level.

U Blocks:

{INSERT IMAGE} The SafeCrete U-Block is a specialty item that reduces on-site cutting for bond beam and lintel construction.  The trough allows for easy insertion of steel reinforcement, after which the hollow space is filled with concrete. 

The photograph shows the corner detail of a bond beam.  The builder cut a piece from the side of the block using a standard hand saw, and attached that piece to the end of the block.  This simple procedure connects the troughs in the two walls and prevents the concrete mixture from pouring out the end of the block. 

U-Blocks are utilized in both residential and commercial construction.  Although all U-Blocks are very light, they are safe to use even in multi-story load-bearing applications, because the concrete fill provides support.

SafeCrete U-Blocks are available in a range of sizes.  Select same width as standard block when using for bond beam.  {INSERT DIAGRAM}


Lintels:

{Insert Image}  SafeCrete pre-cast reinforced lintels enable quick construction of window and door openings.  Lintels serve as beams to support the weight of the wall (live, dead and wind) over openings.  Our lintels are easy to install and do not require hoisting equipment. 

SafeCrete lintels are utilized in both residential and commercial construction.  If desired, lintels can be crafted onsite from SafeCrete blocks.  However, these pre-cast lintels offer a convenient, ready-made alternative.

Lintels are available in an astounding variety of dimensions.  Select lintels based on load and opening size.  Lintels are typically specified with the same thickness as the wall. Call for other sizes.

Cladding Panels:

{Insert image}  Safecrete autoclaved aerated concrete cladding panels are an excellent choice for:

  • exterior cladding
  • structural sheathing
  • fire-rated closures
  • interior partitions
  • EIFS replacement

    AAC cladding panels are frequently used for retrofitting, such as where foam stucco systems have failed, or where additional fire protection is needed. Autoclaved aerated concrete is real masonry, so it provides a superior surface for stucco adhesion. AAC never rots, and the system breathes to keep structural elements dry.

    These panels integrate well with other building products, and can be screwed directly into wood metal studs.

    SafeCrete offers 2 ultra-thin cladding solutions:

    PowerPanels: In sheets as thin as 2'', SafeCrete PowerPanels provide a simple, lightweight solution to your cladding needs. In Dade County, Florida testing, this product has exhibited wind resistance up to 140 mph. The studs supporting the product will give way before our panels!

    Value Panels: This is an even simpler system. The panels are smaller, so they travel better. They contain no wire reinforcement, so they are easier to field cut.

    Floor and Roof Panels:

    {Insert image}  SafeCrete reinforced panels offer an innovative solution for floors and roofs. These panels look very similar to our engineered structural wall panels; however, the reinforcing inside the product is specifically designed for roof and floor loads.

    SafeCrete floor and roof panels create strong, safe floor systems. The panels install quickly, providing fire resistance and sound insulation from floor to floor of multi-story buildings. The panels have a key for easy reinforcing, and can be cut for penetrations. Floor panels can be utilized in a variety of applications, including cantilevers.

    These panels are also a wonderful solution for flat roofs and for cathedral ceilings. The panels are installed with a crane, and can be coated, tiled or shingled. In most climates, no additional insulation will be needed in the ceiling.

    SafeCrete floor and roof panels are available in lengths up to 20 feet. Custom widths, lengths, and loads available. Call for details.

    Jumbo Blocks:

    {Insert image}  The AAC Jumbo Block is a 100% solid masonry unit.  When combined with our Thinbed Mortar, Jumbo Blocks result in a wall system with excellent performance characteristics.  Jumbo Blocks are 4 times larger than our standard block. The larger size results in quicker installation with an electric mini-crane. 

    They are used in both residential and commercial construction.  The quicker installation time of Jumbo Blocks is especially attractive to retailers, who realize the benefits of making a faster turn-around on their investment.

    Jumbo Blocks are available in some custom sizes, as well as the standard 8"x24"x40". Please call for availability. These blocks are rated for loadbearing applications.
